The Laudate Ensemble is specialising in repertoire for trumpets and organ, repertoire for solo trumpets, repertoire for flugel, cornet or trumpets and piano, and repertoire for a variety of other brass ensembles.
Its core members are American trumpet player Andrea Vonk and Swiss trumpet player Simon Menin. As a section they have performed with the Illinois Chamber Orchestra, Illinois Symphony Orchestra, Opera Illinois, New Millennium Orchestra Chicago, the Kenilworth Brass Quintet (Chicago), Artemis Brass Ensemble (Belfast), Vox Merus Brass Quintet (Dublin), Orchestra of St Cecilia (Dublin), Irish Film Orchestras, the (BBC) Ulster Orchestra, RTE Concert Orchestra, and most recently with the Irish Chamber Orchestra. They collaborate with guest musicians from around the world to form the Laudate Ensemble and have had the pleasure to perform for such dignitaries as Archbishop Desmond Tutu from South Africa as well as for the President of Ireland Ms Mary McAleese.
